Senate Dems’ campaign arm outraises GOP by $4M in September

The Senate Democrats’ campaign arm raised $19 million in September, outpacing its Republican counterpart by nearly $4 million for the month.

{mosads}The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) announced Wednesday that the September numbers are part of a $35 million third-quarter fundraising haul. The committee reported that it has $23.8 million cash on hand and no debt.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) said Tuesday that it raised $15 million last month and also took out a $15.5 million line of credit, according to Politico. The committee said it has $12.3 million cash on hand.

The DSCC has outraised the NRSC in most months this cycle.

“While Republicans fail to defend their records and their shameful support for Donald Trump, our outstanding Democratic candidates are showing how they’ll fight for hard-working middle class families in the Senate,” DSCC executive director Tom Lopach said in a statement.

“Our resounding fundraising success gives us the momentum heading into the final stretch of this campaign as we work to take back the majority in November.”

Democrats’ fundraising edge comes as a handful of Democratic Senate candidates in key races are also raising more money than the Republican incumbents they are looking to unseat.

That’s a boost for Democrats, who are trying to retake the Senate majority and need to net five seats — or four seats and retain the White House — to do so.

On Tuesday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced that it brought in $21 million last month, part of the $44 million third-quarter haul for the House Democrats’ campaign arm.
