Dems launch preemptive strike on Rubio Senate campaign

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee released an ad on Friday attacking Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who has not yet committed to running for reelection, over his record of missed votes.

{mosads}The 90-second video, provided to The Washington Post, highlights Rubio’s attendance record as well as his declaration that he would not try to reclaim his Senate seat and his vote against a bill that would keep guns out of the hands of people on certain terrorist watchlists.

Rubio said earlier this week that he is returning home to Florida to reconsider his decision not to run for reelection, saying that the mass shooting in Orlando on Sunday has made him rethink his decision.

The new ad shows that the Democrats are already preparing for the possibility that he’ll seek a second term.
