Senate GOP begin 2015 with more money, less debt than Dems

The National Senatorial Campaign Committee begins 2015 with more money and less debt than the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, according to numbers provided by NRSC staff.

{mosads}The NRSC has $2.7 million cash on hand as of the new year, having raised $1.5 million from Nov. 24 through the end of December. It has $10 million in debt.

The DSCC has $15 million in debt and $1 million cash on hand as of the end of December, it announced Friday.

The DSCC outraised the NRSC by tens of millions of dollars last election cycle, but conservative outside groups more than evened the playing field for the GOP and they picked up nine seats, more than enough to win Senate control. Democrats are hopeful they can win back the Senate this election cycle and have a much more favorable map than they did in 2014.
