Scott Brown concedes to Jeanne Shaheen
Republican Scott Brown has conceded to Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), his campaign confirmed to The Hill, despite holding out early on in the night for final vote counts.
{mosads}With 80 percent of precincts reporting, Shaheen had 51 percent support to Brown’s 49 percent support.
Multiple news outlets called the race for Shaheen early on in the night, but Brown initially held out for late returns from Republican strongholds. While Shaheen’s margin narrowed, Brown’s campaign said it became clear as votes were counted that there was no path to victory for the Republican.
New Hampshire’s Senate race was a rare bright spot for Democrats on an election night that saw them lose at least seven seats and control of the Senate.
