Iowa Senate tied heading into Election Day
Iowa’s open-seat Senate contest is a tied ballgame heading into Election Day, according to a poll conducted by Quinnipiac University.
{mosads}Rep. Bruce Braley (D-Iowa) and Iowa state Sen. Joni Ernst (R) are tied at 47 percent apiece in the live-caller poll for one of the few races that will determine Senate control.
Most recent polling has found a close race, with Ernst leading more polls than Braley, though a survey conducted by pollster Ann Selzer for The Des Moines Register and Bloomberg, which was released over the weekend, found Ernst with a 7 percentage-point lead.
Quinnipiac’s last poll of the race, released last week, had Ernst up four points over Braley at 49 percent to 45 percent.
The live-caller poll of 778 likely voters reached on landlines and cellphones. It was conducted from Oct. 28-Nov. 2 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.
