Franken opponent to air debate
Sen. Al Franken’s (D-Minn.) opponent is so confident he won their last debate, he’s shelling out cash to get it played on state TV.
{mosads}Businessman Mike McFadden (R) squared off with Franken last week in Duluth in a debate that wasn’t aired statewide. He’s now bought an hour of time on a local TV station to re-air the debate. It will be shown starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
“Senator Franken has gone to great lengths to keep his head down, but that’s not going to stop us from ensuring that Minnesotans have a chance to see this debate,” said McFadden in a statement.
His campaign also released a video teasing clips of a few moments in the debate.
Franken has had a comfortable lead over McFadden in recent polls, with some showing a lead in the double digits.
