Senate Dems win August fundraising battle

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) has topped the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) in August fundraising.

The DSCC raised $7.7 million in the month to the NRSC’s $6.1 million and has $25.3 million left for the campaign’s homestretch, more than the $19.9 million the NRSC has in the bank.

{mosads}The DSCC has led in fundraising for much of the cycle, having raised more than $111 million overall to the roughly $82 million the NRSC has raised. Much of that edge has been fueled by help from President Obama.

The DSCC’s August haul is the largest in the committee’s history, according to a spokesman.

Republicans need to net six seats to win back Senate control.
