Ed Gillespie’s first ad: ‘We can do better’

Virginia Senate candidate Ed Gillespie touts his blue-collar roots and argues Democratic priorities are destroying Americans’ “work ethic” in his first TV ad against Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.).

{mosads}”My Dad was an Irish immigrant. I grew up working in my parents’ grocery store. I helped pay for college as a U.S. Senate parking lot attendant and eventually became a counselor to a president. I started three successful businesses,” Gillespie, a former chairman of the Republican National Committee, says in the ad.

“Like many parents, Cathy and I worry Washington’s polices aren’t just killing jobs, but destroying the work ethic. I’ll be a leader for policies that grow the middle class and expand opportunity. With the right policies, we can do better,” he continues.

Gillespie has badly trailed the popular Warner in the polls.
