DSCC outraises NRSC in July
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee bested its Republican counterpart in July fundraising, bringing in $7.1 million to the National Republican Senatorial Committee’s $5.5 million.
{mosads}The DSCC ended July with $32 million cash on hand, while Republicans had $26.6 million in cash.
The Democratic committee has typically outraised the GOP committee this cycle, buoyed in part by help from President Obama, who took a break from his vacation last week to headline a fundraiser for the DSCC.
Democrats will need that money — they’re facing a tough battle to retain their Senate majority.
Most nonpartisan election analysts predict the GOP has a better than even chance of taking back the chamber this fall, but the DSCC is already using its cash advantage to spend on advertising to support some of the more vulnerable Democrats.
