Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) has a lead over both his primary and general election opponents in the crowded Georgia Senate race, according to a new poll conducted by SurveyUSA.
{mosads}Kingston leads businessman David Perdue (R) by 52 percent to 41 percent in the primary runoff, according to the automated poll, and has a 43 percent to 37 percent lead over Democrat Michelle Nunn in the general election. Perdue has a similar lead in the general election.
Perdue finished ahead of Kingston in the first round of voting. But Kingston seems to be consolidating support, he’s locked in endorsements from their former rivals, former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel (R) and Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.).
The poll of 999 likely general election voters and 419 likely GOP runoff voters was conducted from June 3-5, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percent for the primary and 3.2 percent for the general election.
