Georgia Democrat Michelle Nunn raised $2.4 million in the last three months, the latest strong fundraising quarter for her Senate bid.
{mosads}The haul is an increase from the $1.6 million she raised last quarter and tops some by sitting senators facing tough races.
It’s also higher than those of her GOP opponents who’ve released their figures. Rep. Jack Kingston (Ga.) brought in $1.1 million, while Reps. Phil Gingrey (Ga.) and Paul Broun (Ga.) both topped $300,000.
Nunn has run a strong campaign so far, and Democrats are hopeful a messy GOP primary between the trio of congressmen, former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel (R) and businessman David Perdue (R) will produce a flawed nominee. Polls have found a close general election race between Nunn and her potential opponents.
“I am so grateful for the support our campaign is receiving as I take our message across the state,” Nunn said in a statement. “My own experience empowering and mobilizing volunteers has shown me that individuals working together can make an extraordinary difference in their own lives and the lives of others. This campaign is no different.”
Nunn has now raised $5.7 million since she launched her campaign eight months ago. She did not release her cash on hand figures.
