In first ad, Osborn says he ‘never wavered’
Former Nebraska state Treasurer Shane Osborn (R) is up with his first Senate campaign ad, saying he held up under Chinese interrogation and won’t cave in the Senate.
{mosads}”In a crude concrete building, Navy pilot Shane Osborn endured Chinese interrogation for 12 days. He never wavered,” the ad’s narrator says.
Osborne, a former Navy pilot, crash-landed in China after his plane collided with a Chinese one in 2001 and underwent 12 days of interrogation. He won the Distinguished Flying Cross for the incident.
“ Every candidate says the right things,” Osborn says in the ad. “Then, under pressure, they fold and they fail. We need new leaders. Conservatives strong enough to act, not just talk. That’s the only way to repeal ObamaCare and protect our freedom. I’m Shane Osborn and I approve this message. I won’t let you down.”
Osborn is facing a crowded GOP field to succeed retiring Sen. Mike Johanns (R-Neb.). He’s battling with Midland University President Ben Sasse for the conservative mantle. While Osborn has the backing of Eagle Forum’s Phyllis Schlafly and Concerned Women PAC, Sasse has been endorsed by former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska), the Club for Growth and Senate Conservatives Fund.
