{mosads}Booker’s campaign announced Tuesday that the vice president will not appear at a Friday event for the candidate in New Jersey.
Biden had planned to make a stop in the state to help boost Booker’s campaign just five days before Election Day. Though the Democrat is still favored in the special election to replace deceased Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.), multiple polls in recent weeks have shown his Republican opponent, Steve Lonegan, to be closer than expected.
Biden has already hit the trail for other candidates this cycle, making a stop in Massachusetts for then-candidate Edward Markey (D). He also has a fundraiser planned for Sen. Kay Hagan (D-N.C.) later this month.
