A top aide says President-elect Donald Trump has a mandate to make sweeping changes to national policies like ObamaCare.
“This election was not close,” Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told host Chris Wallace on Fox News’s “Fox News Sunday.”
{mosads}“It was not a squeaker,” she added of the Republican’s victory last Tuesday. “There’s a mandate there.
“The voters have said, ‘Stop hiding behind divided government.’ That excuse has been removed.”
Conway also refuted reports that Trump is wavering on repealing and replacing ObamaCare after meeting President Obama last week.
“I believe President-elect Trump is being respectful to President Obama,” she said. “This is obviously President Obama’s signature domestic policy issue, as he tells it.
“What you see with Donald Trump is what you get. And that’s why I believe voters gave him this mandate.”
