Aide: Trump ‘did not discuss’ Clinton special prosecutor after victory

Donald Trump’s campaign manager says the president-elect did not discuss appointing a special prosecutor for probing Hillary Clinton on Election Night.

“We did not discuss that last night since his victory,” Kellyanne Conway said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Wednesday. “And he certainly didn’t address it with Mrs. Clinton on the phone.”

{mosads}Conway then suggested that Trump was more focused on unifying the country than prosecuting Clinton, his Democratic opponent in the presidential election, when MSNBC host Willie Geist asked if Trump might name a special prosecutor.

“Well, I would need to discuss that with him,” she said. “But I think you heard his own words last night Willie, to the extent one man can as president, certainly Vice President-elect Mike Pence, who’s phenomenal, they’re looking to unify the country. But we haven’t discussed that in recent days. And I think that’s all in good times.”

Trump repeatedly vowed earlier this year he would appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the private email server Clinton used during her tenure as secretary of State.

The billionaire also said last month Clinton “has to go to jail” for using the device and potentially jeopardizing sensitive national intelligence.
