Massachusetts gov leaves presidential ballot blank
The Republican governor of Massachusetts declined to cast a vote for anyone for president.
{mosads}Gov. Charlie Baker told reporters Tuesday that did not vote for either Hillary Clinton (D) or Donald Trump (R). Instead, he said, he left the space on his ballot blank for the first time in his life.
“I said many months ago that I wasn’t going to support Donald Trump for a number of reasons,” Baker said, according to NECN.
“And I thought Hillary Clinton had a number of believability problems. And nothing has happened in the past nine months to change my mind on that.”
Baker had indicated early on that he would not back Trump’s candidacy, saying in March that he could not vote for the GOP nominee. He added that he would not vote for Clinton either.
Baker was elected in 2014, defeating Democrat Martha Coakley. He unsuccessfully ran for governor in 2010.
