Kaine: Dems can face off against Trump or ‘KGB’

Vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine said Saturday that the Democratic ticket will have the momentum to face off against Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump or the former Soviet Union’s security apparatus.

“[W]e will have the energy we need to run into the headwind, to face off against Donald Trump, the KGB or anybody else and win a big election on Nov. 8,” Kaine said during a rally in Florida.

{mosads}Hillary Clinton’s campaign has criticized the GOP nominee for praising Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump said in September that Putin is a better leader than President Obama.

“I’m the underdog until they call me the winner,” Kaine said Saturday.

His underdog comment comes as polls in several states have tightened, including Pennsylvania and Michigan.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is currently leading Trump by 1 point in the battleground state of Florida, according to the RealClearPolitics average of polls.
