Poll: Clinton up 6 in Wisconsin

Hillary Clinton is leading Donald Trump by 6 points in Wisconsin, according to a major poll released Wednesday.

Clinton (D) has 46 percent support among registered voters to Trump’s (R) 40 percent, according to the Marquette University Law School poll, which was conducted both before and after Friday’s news that the FBI found new emails that might pertain to the private email server Clinton used while secretary of State.

Clinton led Trump by 7 points in last month’s edition of the poll.

{mosads}Trump saw an increase in support among Republicans after the FBI’s Friday announcement, the poll found.

Seventy-three percent of Republican respondents said they backed Trump on Wednesday and Thursday, but that number jumped to 86 percent Saturday through Monday.

Wisconsin is considered a reliable indicator of Trump’s performance in the Upper Midwest, where he is trying to flip at least one traditionally blue state on Election Day.

Trump’s campaign announced last week that it would put resources in Michigan.

The poll, which surveyed 1,401 registered Wisconsin voters, was conducted Oct. 26–31 by both cellphone and landlines. It has a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points.
