Trump ad: Clinton’s ‘corruption is closing in’

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign announced a new television ad Wednesday hammering Hillary Clinton over the FBI’s renewed review of emails linked to her use of a private email server while secretary of State.

“The Clintons: from dead broke to worth hundreds of millions,” the spot says. “So how did Hillary end up filthy rich? Pay to play politics.”

{mosads}“Staggering amounts of cash poured into the Clinton Foundation from criminals, dictators, countries that hate America,” the spot adds. “Hillary cut deals for donors.

“Now the FBI has launched a new investigation. After decades of lies and scandal, her corruption is closing in.”

The clip will air in major markets nationwide and is part of Trump’s closing argument to voters less than a week from Election Day, his campaign said.

“Hillary Clinton’s lack of transparency, blatant dishonesty and self-centeredness drive her poor decision making,” Trump senior communications adviser Jason Miller said in a statement.

“[Former] Secretary [of State] Clinton has consistently put the well-being of her wallet and her donors’ wallets over the well-being of Americans, has spent decades leading our country in the wrong direction and is now spending the final week of an historic presidential election fighting the FBI instead of giving the American people something to vote for,” he added.

FBI Director James Comey sent Congress a letter last week notifying lawmakers that his agency is reviewing newly obtained emails potentially linked to Clinton’s use of a private server while secretary of State.

The emails were reportedly obtained during a separate investigation into former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), the estranged husband of Clinton aide Huma Abedin, over his alleged online relationship with a 15-year-old girl.

The FBI announcement has spurred controversy in the presidential race a week away from the election, as Clinton, the Democratic nominee, leads Trump by about 2 points nationally, according to the RealClearPolitics polling index.
