Obama urges millennials to vote on ‘Full Frontal’

President Obama made an appearance on Samantha Bee’s TBS show “Full Frontal” on Monday night, joking that he was dressed up “as what happens when young people vote.”

{mosads}The president’s Halloween appearance on the late-night show was an opportunity for Obama to urge young people to vote.

“I want to let first-time voters know why it’s so important to vote,” he said. “This is probably the most important election of our lifetimes.”

He noted that his older daughter, Malia, voted for the first time this year, saying “the pride she took in casting her ballot” is a feeling he hopes all young voters experience.

Bee drew laughs as she imitated a millennial voter, but Obama used the opportunity to stress that if voters are worried about college affordability or climate change, they should vote for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president.

“Young people have a bigger stake in this election than anybody,” he said, adding, “I would hope that you’d be willing to take the same amount of time you spend just looking through cat videos on your phone to make sure that the democracy is working.”

Bee teased Obama about how much he’s aged during his two terms in office and asked him what he thinks the “female equivalent of ‘you weren’t born in this country,’” a false attack that’s been lobbed at the president since he first campaigned for the presidency.

“I think the equivalent will be she’s tired, she’s moody, she’s being emotional,” Obama said, before adding that “when men are ambitious it’s just taken for granted,” but “when women are ambitious [people ask] why.”
