Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump unloaded on his Democratic rival Sunday evening in Colorado, saying the FBI may have found “the mother lode” when it announced it will examine roughly 650,000 emails “pertinent” to the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server while secretary of State.
{mosads}The FBI now has a warrant and can begin combing through the cache of messages on the laptop of ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), the estranged husband of longtime Clinton aide Huma Abedin.
“This could be the mother lode, you know? This could be the 33,000 that are missing. This could be the 20,000 that are missing. This could be the 15,000 that are missing,” he added, referring to emails that were deleted from the server before the FBI could see them.
Trump attacked Clinton’s latest “bombshell of corruption” and said it’s symbolic of the corruption of Washington, D.C., and the political system in general.
“Hillary has been there for 30 years and she’s accomplished nothing,” Trump said. “She’s the candidate of yesterday. We’re the movement of the future.”
He warned those gathered that this election may be the “last chance” to change a “corrupt system.”
“Hillary Clinton is not the victim, by the way,” Trump said. “You, the American people are the victims of this corrupt system in every way and this is you last chance to change it.”
“All we have to do is stop believing our failed politicians,” he added later.
