Trump: FBI may be reviewing deleted Clinton emails

Donald Trump speculated Saturday that new emails being reviewed by the FBI potentially in connection to its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server may include some of Clinton’s deleted emails.

“I think some of these 33,000 were captured yesterday,” Trump said during a rally in Golden, Colo.

{mosads}Trump went after his Democratic rival’s “bleached server” a day after FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to Congress saying the FBI was reviewing new emails that may pertain to the agency’s investigation into Clinton’s handling of classified information.

The New York Times later reported that the emails were found as part of a separate investigation into former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), the estranged husband of longtime Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

Comey announced in July that the FBI, upon investigating Clinton’s email arrangement, would not recommend charges be brought against the former secretary of State over the mishandling of classified information.

Clinton has long acknowledged that she made a mistake regarding her email arrangement. Last year, she turned over thousands of emails to the State Department for archiving and said another 33,000 emails deemed “personal” were deleted.
