Poll: Trump within 3 points in NH
Donald Trump is gaining ground on Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, according to an Emerson College poll released Friday.
{mosads}Clinton has 46 percent support to Trump’s 43 percent in the state, the survey found.
A version of the poll released last week showed Clinton leading by 8 points.
While Trump got good news from the Granite State, the same poll showed Clinton extending her leads in Michigan and Pennsylvania.
In Michigan, Clinton has 50 percent to Trump’s 43 percent. An August version of the poll had Clinton leading by 5 points.
And in Pennsylvania, Clinton extended her lead to 5 points, 48 percent to 43 percent. Last week’s edition of the poll showed her ahead by 4 points.
Emerson’s poll also found mixed results in two close Senate races, with each party gaining an edge in one.
In New Hampshire, Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) leads Democrat Maggie Hassan by 6 points, 50 percent to 44 percent. Last week’s poll showed them tied.
And in Pennsylvania, Democrat Katie McGinty took a 2-point lead over Sen. Pat Toomey (R), 45 percent to 43 percent. The poll last week showed Toomey leading by 3 points.
The Michigan and Pennsylvania polls were conducted Oct. 25–26, and the New Hampshire one Oct. 23–25.
The Michigan poll was based on a sample of 500 likely voters with a margin of error of 4.3 percentage points; the Pennsylvania survey included 550 likely voters with a margin of error of 4.1 percentage points; and the New Hampshire poll surveyed 600 likely voters with a margin of error of 3.9 percentage points.
