Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson on Friday jumped on the new developments in the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton’s private email server, reiterating that voters have another choice in November.
{mosads}“Every ballot in every state and the District of Columbia has a third option, and that option is a ticket with two former Governors, each a Republican elected and reelected in a Democratic state. If ever there is a time when voters should have such a third choice, it is now. And they have one,” Johnson said in a campaign statement.
The Libertarian candidate blasted both major-party nominees, Clinton (D) and Donald Trump (R).
“With just days remaining before the election, the Democratic and Republican parties are offering a choice between a candidate under FBI investigation, and Donald Trump. Voters deserve a lot better than that. America deserves better than that.”
“Integrity, honesty and treating all Americans with dignity are actually important. Is it too much to ask that our President should possess those minimum qualifications?” Johnson said.
The FBI on Friday announced a review of new materials as part of its investigation into the private server setup Clinton used when she was secretary of State.
In a letter to lawmakers, FBI Director James Comey wrote that the bureau discovered more emails “that appear to be pertinent to the investigation.” The emails were reportedly recovered from a separate investigation related to a sexting scandal involving former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), the estranged husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin.
