Trump losing cash race in final weeks

Donald Trump’s campaign entered the final three weeks of the race with about $16 million in its coffers — about $46 million less than what Hillary Clinton’s campaign had on hand.

{mosads}The Trump campaign reported bringing in $30.5 million and spending $49.2 million during the period of Oct. 1-19, according to filings submitted to the Federal Election Commission late Thursday.

The amount raised by the campaign during that period includes $30,000 given by Trump himself, bring his total contributions to $56.1 million — a figure that includes $47.5 million that he has loaned to the operation.

The real estate mogul has vowed in recent weeks to spend a total of $100 million of his own money on the campaign, and as of Oct. 19 he is about $44 million short of that benchmark.

In that same period, Clinton’s campaign raised $52.8 million, spent $50 million and closed out with $62.4 million going into the final stretch.

Clinton is expected to ramp up her spending and fundraising operations in the final days before Nov. 8, while the Washington Post reported on Wednesday that Trump will not be holding any more fundraisers during the race.
