Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump joked Thursday that the election should be cancelled — and the presidency given to him.
{mosads}During a rally in Toledo, Ohio, Trump blasted Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s tax proposals, saying she wants to raise taxes for small businesses.
“What a difference this is,” he said. “I’m just thinking to myself right now — we should just cancel the election and just give it to Trump, right? Why are we even having it?”
“Her policies are so bad,” he added. “Boy, do we have a big difference.”
The real estate mogul’s chances of winning in November have plummeted over the past several weeks.
According to RealClearPolitics, Trump is trailing Clinton by an average of nearly 6 points nationally in recent polls. He is also behind by varying degrees in most battleground states.
