Poll: Clinton leads Trump by 3 nationally
Hillary Clinton is 3 points ahead of Donald Trump nationwide with less than two weeks until Election Day, according to new poll.
Clinton squeaks past Trump 44 percent to 41 percent, within the margin of error, in the Fox News survey released Wednesday.
{mosads}Ten percent back a third-party candidate, while four percent remain undecided heading toward the end of the 2016 race.
Pollsters also found that Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, tops Trump in a head-to-head matchup with her GOP rival.
Forty-nine percent back the former secretary of State in that scenario, versus 44 percent who favor Trump.
Wednesday’s results also found voters think Clinton is the better option for the White House when matched with Trump.
Sixty-four percent say Clinton is qualified for the presidency, while 62 percent say she has the temperament for the job, and 56 percent are confident in her judgment during a crisis.
Forty-six percent, meanwhile, see Trump as qualified for the Oval Office, and 36 percent feel he has the temperament needed for that role. Fifty-six percent lack confidence in the real estate tycoon’s judgment during a crisis.
The new survey additionally discovered voters view Clinton more favorably than Trump, though neither candidate is popular.
Fifty-three percent view Clinton unfavorably, while 45 percent consider the former first lady favorably instead.
Fifty-six percent see Trump unfavorably, in contrast, while 42 percent view the businessman favorably.
Polls are tightening at both the national and state levels, as Clinton and Trump race toward the finish line in the heated presidential race.
Clinton leads Trump by about 5 points nationwide, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls.
Fox News conducted its latest survey of 1,221 likely voters nationwide via cellphone and land line telephone interviews Oct. 22-25. It has a 2.5 percent margin of error.
