Trump praises Gingrich for Megyn Kelly interview: ‘We don’t play games’

Donald Trump praised Newt Gingrich on Wednesday following his contentious interview with Megyn Kelly, in which Gingrich accused the Fox News anchor of being “fascinated with sex.”

“Congratulations, Newt, on last night. That was an amazing interview,” Trump said to the former GOP Speaker, who was in the audience for a ribbon cutting at Trump International Hotel in Washington.

In the interview Tuesday evening, Gingrich batted down questions about women who have accused Trump of groping them and the 2005 recording in which the GOP nominee brags about being able to kiss and grab women because of his celebrity.

“I am sick and tired of people like you using that language. That is inflammatory. That is not true,” Gingrich told Kelly.

Gingrich pointed his finger at the camera after Kelly used the term “sexual predator” to describe the allegations against the GOP presidential nominee.

“You are fascinated with sex, and you don’t care about public policy,” Gingrich said.

“You know what, Mr. Speaker? I am not fascinated by sex, but I am fascinated by the protection of women and understanding what we’re getting in the Oval Office,” Kelly retorted.

Kelly wrapped up the heated interview by suggesting that Gingrich work on his “anger issues.”

Gingrich fired back in a tweet Wednesday, saying, “I don’t have anger management issues” but rather “media bias issues.”
