Vice President Joe Biden slammed Donald Trump on Tuesday over his claims that the election is “rigged,” saying Democracy is fragile and shouldn’t be played with.
{mosads}”That should be disqualifying in and of itself, what he’s saying,” Biden said in an interview with MSNBC’s “Hardball” with Chris Matthews.
Trump has dropped in the polls following the release of a 2005 video that showed him bragging about grabbing and kissing women without their consent.
The GOP presidential nominee has in turn upped his claims that a “rigged” election and widespread voter fraud could steal the presidency from him.
His comments have been rebuked by both Democrats and Republicans.
Biden on Tuesday said Trump’s rhetoric could spell trouble is the election is close.
“Look, we’ve always had that element in every election. The difference is we’ve never had the head of a great party saying that is is rigged,” Biden said.
“Now, what would be a problem is if in fact it’s a very close— if you have a, you know, Bush election, God forbid, and he says it’s rigged.”
