The man known as “the other Donald Trump” is reportedly casting his vote for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
{mosads}Dr. Donald L. Trump, an oncologist who runs the Inova Dwight and Martha Schar Cancer Institute in northern Virginia, offered praised for the Democratic nominee’s policies in an interview with CNN’s KFile.
“I would vote for Clinton, I voted for Obama, because I like what they propose. I like the empathy, the inclusiveness, and the progressive policies that they espouse,” Dr. Trump said in the interview.
He also slammed the GOP nominee who shares his name, accusing him of being thin on policy and heavy on showmanship.
“I have found [Donald Trump’s] theatrical persona and lack of content to his positions distasteful,” he said.
“And particularly some of the rabble-rousing rhetoric and hostile rhetoric I think is distinctly out of place in public discourse.”
“The other Donald Trump” has been featured in several profiles since the launch of the New York real estate mogul’s campaign, describing the day-to-day oddities of having one of the most famous names in America.
Dr. Trump has in the past met the Republican nominee, who has been in a video promoting Dr. Trump’s work at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, where he formerly served as the CEO.
Dr. Trump said when he met the former “Apprentice” star, he had an attitude that “might be called arrogance.” But he said Donald J. Trump was “not as unempathetic as he currently comes across as being.”
Dr. Trump also said the jokes people make about his name have died down as the election has gone on.
“I have observed that when folks realize what my name is there’s less often a comment like, ‘Oh, it can’t be,’ or ‘You’re kidding’ or ‘This isn’t really your credit card,'” he said.
