Dem super-PAC ad suggests Trump could start nuclear war

A newly unveiled super-PAC released an ad Tuesday suggesting that Donald Trump could start a nuclear war if elected president.

The 52nd Street Fund ad features a clip from an MSNBC forum with Chris Matthew where Trump asks why America makes nuclear weapons if the country doesn’t use them.

{mosads}The 30-second spot, entitled “Careful,” is part of a $725,000 ad buy that will air in the Ohio media markets of Columbus, Toledo and Cincinnati as well as online.

“Donald Trump’s finger on the nuclear button is a horrifying prospect,” former Sen. Bill Bradley (D-N.J.) said in a statement announcing the formation of the anti-Trump group two weeks before Election Day.

“His temperament and absence of experience makes him a danger to all Americans,” Bradley added.

Trump has made waves for past comments about the country’s nuclear arsenal. A report from early August claimed that Trump asked a foreign policy adviser several times during a briefing about why America can’t use its nuclear weapon. A spokeswoman for the real estate mogul later denied the report, telling The Hill in an email, “There is no truth to this.”

Trump’s comments have fueled arguments from critics that he is unfit to serve as commander in chief while Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has touted a number of endorsements from national security officials who served in former GOP administrations.

While Clinton holds a comfortable lead in most national and battleground state polls, Trump continues to hold a small edge in Ohio, where the ad will air. The RealClearPolitics polling average has Trump up by 1 point in the Buckeye State.
