Poll: Nearly 7 in 10 voters think Clinton will win election

Nearly seven in 10 voters think Hillary Clinton will win the election Nov. 8, according to a CNN/ORC poll released Tuesday.

Sixty-eight percent of registered voters say they think Clinton will win the election, according to the poll, while 27 percent say they think Trump will win. That’s a 9-point increase for Clinton and 7-point drop for Trump from a September poll.

{mosads}A majority of registered voters, 61 percent, also believe that Trump will not accept the results of the election if he loses, while 35 percent think the real estate mogul will accept the results if he loses.

Trump made waves last week after refusing during his last debate against Clinton to commit to accept the results of the election if he loses. He later said he would accept a “clear” election result.

A majority of Americans, 66 percent, are either somewhat or very confident the results will be accurate, while 33 percent expressed little or no confidence that votes would be accurately cast and counted.

The figures come after weeks of Trump alleging that the election is being “rigged” against him.

Clinton has held a consistent lead over Trump in the final weeks of the race. The former secretary of State is currently 5.1 points ahead of him in the RealClearPolitics national polling index.

The survey of 1,017 U.S. adults including 916 registered voters was conducted Oct. 20-23 via landlines and cellphones and has an overall margin of error of 3 points and margin of error of 3.5 points for registered voters.
