Clinton labels Trump a ‘sore loser’ for election comments

Republican nominee Donald Trump’s suggestion that he may not accept the result of the presidential election makes him a “sore loser,” his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, said Sunday.

{mosads}”To say you won’t respect the results of the election — that is a direct threat to our democracy. The peaceful transfer of power is one of the things that makes America, America,” Clinton said at a rally at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

“And look, some people are sore losers, and we just got to keep going,” she added.

Trump stunned viewers during the final presidential debate of 2016 when he said he would leave people in suspense about whether he would accept the election result.

He has since doubled down on that rhetoric, saying at a rally last week that he would gladly accept the result — but only if he won.

“I would like to promise and pledge to all of my voters and supporters and to all of the people of the United States that I will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential election, if I win,” Trump said at a rally in Ohio.

He added that he would accept a “clear” election result but would file a legal challenge in the case of a questionable result.
