Iranian President Hassan Rouhani slammed the U.S. presidential election and both major-party nominees in a speech on Sunday, adding that “there is no morality” in the race.

Rouhani, who is up for reelection himself in 2017, said he was asked in September which candidate he favored.
“I said, ‘Should I prefer bad over worse or worse over bad?’ ” he asked.

Last week, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, took to Twitter to criticize the U.S. election.
“US presidential race & issues two candidates raised is a typical result of lack of spirituality & faith among those in power,” Khamenei wrote.
