Polls: Clinton, Trump separated by 3 points in Florida, Texas

Hillary Clinton has a 3-point lead in Florida, according to a new poll, while Donald Trump is ahead by the same margin in Texas, according to new polls of the battleground states.

{mosads}Clinton leads 46 percent to 43 percent over Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, in the Sunshine State in the CBS News Battleground Tracker poll released Sunday morning, which is identical to Trump’s lead over the Democratic nominee in Texas, a traditional red state.

The poll finds 69 percent of voters think Trump is talking about the issues he cares about while 46 percent think the GOP nominee is talking about issues they care about.

Clinton has a similar gap.

More than 80 percent of Republicans in Texas and Florida think there is widespread voter fraud and 72 percent of Republicans in those states think Trump would win the election if it were not for fraud, according to the poll.

Trump has the support of 82 percent of Republicans and Clinton is backed by 91 percent of Democrats.

The poll was conducted from Oct. 20 to 21 among 2,073 interviews. The margin of error for Florida is 3.6 percent and for Texas is 4.4 percent.

According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls in Florida, Clinton has a 3.8-point lead over her Republican rival. In Texas, Trump has a 4.8-point lead over Clinton, according to the average of polls.
