Hillary Clinton’s spokesman tweeted a photo of the Democratic presidential nominee looking stunned at the news of the Chicago Cubs advancing to the World Series.
{mosads}Clinton, who grew up in the Park Ridge, Ill., a suburb of Chicago, was finishing up a campaign rally in Philadelphia when the Cubs clinched the spot, beating the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-0.
The Cubs have not gone to the World Series since 1945.
“That look when you cap off a day on the trail by watching the @Cubs cement their trip to the #WorldSeries,” Nick Merrill tweeted.
In the photo, Clinton is watching the Cubs post-game celebration on her campaign’s plane after the rally, according to a CNN reporter.
Clinton grew up as a Cubs fan, but declared her fandom for the New York Yankees around the time she ran for Senate in the state.
In 1999, she wore a Yankees hat when the team visited the White House following a World Series win, and was criticized for political pandering. Clinton has since said her dual allegiance is the result of loving baseball, but wanting to root for a winner, according to CNN.
