President Obama on Thursday called out Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and other GOP senators for supporting a presidential nominee who has a “bromance” with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
{mosads}”If you’ve made a career out of idealizing Ronald Reagan, then where were you when your own party’s nominee for president was kissing up to Vladimir Putin?” Obama said at a rally for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in Miami, Fla.
“You used to criticize me for even talking to the Russians. Now suddenly your nominee is having a bromance with Putin?” Obama asked.
Republican nominee Donald Trump has come under fire from Democrats for praising and defending Putin throughout his campaign for president.
Despite saying in the past that he and Putin have a relationship, Trump said again at the final presidential debate of 2016 on Wednesday night, “I don’t know Putin. I never met Putin.”
