Poll: Clinton up by 8 points in Wisconsin

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton holds an 8-point lead over Republican nominee Donald Trump in Wisconsin, a new poll finds.

{mosads}The poll released Tuesday by St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wis., found Clinton leading Trump 47 percent to 39 percent. Green Party nominee Jill Stein took 3 percent support, while Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson received 1 percent.

The former secretary of State has held a comfortable lead over Trump in the Badger State, where she has a 6-point lead in the RealClearPolitics average of polls.

The new survey was conducted following the leak of a 2005 video in which Trump made lewd remarks about women and after a wave of sexual assault allegations were leveled against the real estate mogul.

Meanwhile, in the state’s U.S. Senate race, former Sen. Russ Feingold (D) tops vulnerable incumbent Sen. Ron Johnson (R) by double digits, 52 percent to 40 percent.

Feingold held a double-digit edge over the GOP senator earlier this month and throughout much of the campaign, but more recent surveys showed a much closer race, with the Wisconsin Democrat leading by as little as 2 points.

The St. Norbert College poll of 664 likely voters was conducted from Oct. 13 to 16. Its margin of error is 3.8 percentage points.
