Fiorina calls on Trump to drop out

Carly Fiorina is calling on Donald Trump to drop out of the presidential race following leaked audio of Trump making lewd comments about women, joining a growing list of Republicans racing to distance themselves from the GOP nominee.

{mosads}Fiorina, who faced off with Trump several times during the GOP presidential primary, said in a statement Saturday that Trump “does not represent me or my party.”

She asked the real estate mogul to step aside so that the Republican National Committee can replace Trump with his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.

“I understand the responsibility of Republicans to support their nominee. Our nominee has weighty responsibilities as well,” Fiorina said. “Donald Trump has manifestly failed in these responsibilities.”

Fiorina reiterated her opposition to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, saying she is “unfit” to be president.

“For the sake of our constitution and the rule of law, we must defeat Hillary Clinton,” Fiorina said.

Sens. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) and Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) have all called on Trump to leave the GOP presidential ticket as well. Reps. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) and Martha Roby (R-Ala.) ave rescinded their endorsements of Trump, and conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt has called on him to leave the presidential race.
