Vice President Biden says Donald Trump is not a “bad man” but is profoundly “ignorant.”
“This is an ignorant man,” he said during a CNN interview aired early Tuesday. “This guy says things he has no idea.
{mosads}“But he’s not a bad man,” Biden added of the Republican presidential nominee. “But his ignorance is so profound, so profound.”
Biden cited Trump’s recent remarks about military veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as an example of the billionaire’s ignorance.
Trump began sparring with the media Monday over whether he intended to demean military veterans suffering from PTSD and other mental-health challenges.
“I have my staff contact the Defense Department every morning at 6 o’clock to tell me exactly how many troops are injured, how many troops are wounded,” Biden said, reading from a sheet of paper. “Every one matters.”
“It’s not 6,700 and some,” Biden added. “It’s 6,753 deaths. Not 50 — 53. It’s 52,419 wounded.
“The number of people coming home with unseen injuries, post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries, is significantly higher. What’s this say about a guy who doesn’t have any notion of that?”
