Clinton video features Miss Universe who was insulted by Trump

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign is out with a new video featuring a former Miss Universe winner who says she was disparaged by Donald Trump, as the Democratic nominee’s campaign hopes to seize on a prominent exchange from Monday night’s debate.

{mosads}In the Spanish-language video, Miss Universe 1996 Alicia Machado claims that Trump yelled at her, told her she looked ugly and fat, and called her “Miss Piggy” and “Miss Housekeeping,” a dig at her Hispanic heritage.

The video goes on say that Trump, the billionaire turned GOP candidate, threatened to take away her crown once she gained weight, and includes footage from Trump talking with reporters he invited to watch Machado work out.

“She weighed 118 pounds or 117 pounds and she went up to 160 or ’70. So this is somebody who likes to eat,” Trump said in the old video.

“It was very humiliating. I felt really bad, like a lab rat,” Machado said in the Clinton video.

“Long after, I was sick with eating disorders. I wouldn’t eat, and would still see myself as fat because a powerful man had said so.”

She went on to accuse Trump of harboring a “deep racism.” She adds that she is now an American citizen and will be voting because she doesn’t believe Trump should be president.

The video was released shortly after Clinton referenced Machado’s story during the debate to accuse Trump of sexism in response to a question from the moderator about why the New York mogul questioned Clinton’s “presidential look.”

“One of the worst things he said was about a woman in a beauty contest – he loves beauty contests, supporting them and hanging around them – and he called this woman “Miss Piggy,” then he called her “Miss Housekeeping” because she was Latina. Donald, she has a name,” Clinton said.

“Her name is Alicia Machado, and she has become a U.S. citizen, and you can bet she’s going to vote this November.”
