Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton boasts a 7-point edge over Donald Trump in Wisconsin with less than 50 days before Election Day, according to a new poll.
Clinton leads her Republican rival, 45 to 38 percent, among the state’s likely voters in the Emerson College Survey released Thursday. Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson next grabs 11 percent, while the Green Party’s Jill Stein earns 2 percent. Another 4 percent are undecided.
{mosads}Clinton is viewed more positively than Trump in the Badger State, though both have a negative favorability rating. Forty percent of respondents see Clinton favorably and 56 percent unfavorably, while Trump has a 37 percent favorable rating and a 61 percent unfavorable rating.
Emerson College conducted its latest sampling of 700 likely voters from Sept. 19 to 20. It has a margin of error of 3.6 percentage points.
Clinton leads Trump by 5 points in a RealClearPolitics average of Wisconsin polling.
Clinton also leads Trump by 6 points, 45 to 39 percent, in a separate Emerson College poll of Illinois’s likely voters. Johnson ranks third, with 6 percent, while Stein captures 3 percent and another 7 percent remain undecided.
Clinton is better liked in Illinois, with 43 percent viewing her favorably and 53 percent seeing her unfavorably.
Trump, in contrast, receives a 34 percent favorable ranking and a 61 percent unfavorable rating in the Land of Lincoln.

Recent polls show a tightening White House race between Clinton and Trump at both the national and state levels.
