Poll: Nearly 80 percent of Latinos view Trump negatively

Nearly 80 percent of Latino voters have a negative view of Donald Trump, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Telemundo poll released Thursday.

{mosads}The poll finds 78 percent of Latino voters view the Republican presidential nominee negatively, with 68 percent saying their view is “very negative.” Only 15 percent of Latino voters view Trump positively.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is viewed positively by 57 percent of Latino voters and negatively by 30 percent.

The poll found that 71 percent of likely Latino voters say they will vote for Clinton, with 18 percent saying Trump.

Among all registered Latino voters, the race is slightly closer, at 69 percent to 18 percent.

In a four-way matchup among Latino voters, Clinton is supported by 65 percent of likely Latino voters, and Trump is favored by 17 percent.

Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson has the support of 9 percent, and Green Party nominee Jill Stein is backed by 2 percent.

The poll was conducted among 300 Latino voters from Sept. 15 to 20. The margin of error for registered voters is 5.66 percentage points and for likely voters is 6 percentage points.
