Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) late Thursday joked about not becoming Hillary Clinton’s running mate on CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

“Is there any chance that I could announce on the show tonight that you are Hillary Clinton’s VP pick?” Colbert asked Warren. “Because that would be a huge thing for me to announce on the show.”

{mosads}“Stephen, I think if it were me I’d know it by now, so probably not,” she quipped. “But look, she has lots of good choices, and I’m excited to see who she’ll pick.”

“Alright, fair enough, I had to ask,” Colbert responded as Warren retreated into a dressing room labeled “VIP.”

Colbert waited until Warren had shut the door before yanking out the sticker’s “I,” flashing a thumbs-up at the camera once it read “VP.”

Warren has repeatedly been floated as a potential running mate for Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

Buzz has been steadily building for Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), however, instead.

Reports emerged Thursday that former President Bill Clinton hopes Kaine soon joins his wife’s ticket.

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack is also a top contender, while Labor Secretary Tom Perez and Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and Cory Booker (D-N.J.) have also been mentioned.
