Bill Clinton wants Kaine for Dem VP: report
Bill Clinton reportedly expressed support for Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) to serve as presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s running mate, The New York Times reported.
{mosads}The former president thinks Kaine has the domestic and national security experience necessary to make him a good choice for the position, according to the newspaper. Kaine served as a former governor and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Hillary Clinton is expected to make her first appearance with her vice presidential pick on Friday or Saturday, CNN reported.
Kaine is reportedly on her shortlist, along with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.
“I don’t expect a decision is made or announced until the weekend between the convention,” Kaine said Wednesday during an appearance before the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
“It’s wonderful to be mentioned. But I love my job and trying not to overly think it.”
