On the same day a Marine planned a protest of Donald Trump outside Trump Tower in New York City, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee took to Twitter to defend his work with veterans.
Trump defended himself on the social media network after a weekend Washington Post report dug deeper into the fundraiser he held early this year.
Protest organizer and former Marine Alexander McCoy said Sunday that Trump should apologize for stating he raised $6 million at a Jan. 28 fundraiser for veterans.
The fundraiser brought in at least $3.1 million in donations to veterans groups, according to accounting by the Post.
