Sanders will release tax returns if Clinton releases transcripts, wife says

Bernie Sanders will release more tax returns if Democratic presidential rival Hillary Clinton releases the transcripts of her paid speeches to Wall Street companies, Jane Sanders said Tuesday.

“You know what’s interesting is we released the 2014 [returns] — Secretary Clinton hasn’t released a transcript yet — so why don’t we wait and let’s see what happens,” she said on CNN.

{mosads}Asked by Wolf Blitzer to clarify whether that is the campaign’s official position, Sanders responded, “Yep, yep.”

“But honestly, Wolf, these are not the issues that are of concern to the American people,” she quickly interjected, mentioning jobs and moving on to other topics.

Bernie Sanders has previously promised to release his full tax returns from recent years, arguing they show he makes less in a year than Clinton made in one speech on Wall Street.

Sanders released his 2014 returns earlier this month, showing he made $205,617 that year.
