NY Jets owner knocks on doors for Bush in Iowa

The billionaire who owns the New York Jets is knocking on doors for Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush in Iowa.

Woody Johnson is personally pushing voters towards the former Florida governor before Monday’s first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses, according to Bloomberg.

{mosads}Johnson, the Bush campaign’s finance chairman, spent last week pitching his message before Hawkeye State residents. The football team owner — who is worth an estimated $2.6 billion — is hitting the campaign trail to support Bush’s economic policies.

“You can’t live on a 1 percent increase,” Johnson said the economic growth rate. “It’s been just pathetic. We’ve got to grow closer than 4 percent. How do we do that? Read Jeb’s plan.”

Bloomberg reported Saturday that Bush’s economic manifesto is a 47-page booklet Johnson and other volunteers are circulating in Iowa. The Bush campaign hopes the grassroots measure will help boost his fortunes during Monday’s vote.
