Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders on Sunday said he is “disappointed” in the charge from Chelsea Clinton, daughter of primary front-runner Hillary Clinton, that he wants to “dismantle” the U.S. system of healthcare.

{mosads}“Chelsea Clinton is a very smart and capable young woman,” Sanders said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “I’m sure she loves her mother and she’s trying to do everything she can to make sure her mom wins, that’s pretty natural.”

“I have four kids, seven grandchildren, they’re rooting for me,” he added. “But I was a little disappointed that what Chelsea said was simply not accurate.”

Sanders said the charge is “obviously not true,” adding that he has been fighting to make healthcare universal in America during his entire legislative career.

He said Clinton’s attacks on the cost of his healthcare plan sound as if they were written by conservatives.

“Healthcare is expensive,” he said. “But what we are doing, and this is a point – it bothers me a bit, Republicans often make this attack, and I’m hearing too much of it from the Clinton camp – we are eliminating private health insurance premiums – you won’t have to pay any.”
