Trump: Philadelphia’s mayor a ‘crude dope’

Donald Trump called Mayor Michael Nutter (D) a “crude dope” on Wednesday for banning him from Philadelphia the day before.

“Yes, he is a crude dope,” he tweeted when asked about Nutter’s decision on Twitter that morning.

{mosads}“@Mayor_Nutter of Philadelphia, who is doing a terrible job, should be ashamed for using such a disgusting word in referring to me,” the GOP presidential front-runner wrote.  “Low-life!”

Nutter said late Tuesday that Trump is no longer welcome in his city after calling for ban on admitting Muslims into the U.S.

“Certainly if I had the power to do so, the only banning that would be done is of [Trump] not being allowed in the city of Philadelphia,” he said that evening.

“[There is] nothing more vile or ignorant,” Nutter said, referencing Trump’s suggestion for the Islamic faithful. “We have no place for that kind of ignorance and intolerance and lack of understanding of what our country is about.”

“Unfortunately, many are playing a political game for their own gain, which undermines the fundamental values of what the United States of America is about.”

Nutter criticized Trump while also addressing the vandalism of a mosque in northern Philadelphia.

A severed pig’s head was left outside the Al-Aqsa Islamic Society, prompting a police investigation of the incident.

Nutter told Philadelphia’s Muslims that there are “brothers and sisters” welcome in his city Tuesday night.

“[Your] involvement in the life of Philadelphia is desperately needed,” he said. “You will be safe and secure in this city.”

Nutter’s rebuke of Trump follows a similar move against the outspoken billionaire in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Mayor Rick Kriseman (D) announced Trump is blacklisted from St. Petersburg’s streets following his remarks on Muslims.

“I am hereby barring Donald Trump from entering St. Petersburg until we fully understand the threat posed by all Trumps,” he tweeted.
